The following document sets forth the Privacy Policy for RIIDE Pty Ltd (ABN 33 646 996 885) (collectively “RIIDE“, “we“, “us“, or “our“). We are committed to providing you with the best possible customer service experience whilst being transparent in the way we handle your personal information.

RIIDE Pty Ltd is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles, as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act), which sets out a number of principles concerning the privacy of individuals. This policy also constitutes our “Credit Reporting Policy” under the Privacy Act.

We reserve the right to make changes to this policy from time to time.

Collection of your personal information

There are many aspects of the site which can be viewed without providing personal information, however, for access to certain features, such as registering an account or customer support, you are required to submit personally identifiable information. This may include, but is not limited to, account information like your full name, mobile number, address, credit-related information (e.g. repayment history, default information) and other sensitive information. For some services, in order to verify your identity and for the prevention of fraud, we require photos of your government-issued driver’s licence (both front and back) as well as a photo with you holding the card.

Where an account debt remains unpaid we may disclose credit-related information to illion Data Registries Pty Ltd, Experian Australia Credit Services Pty Ltd and Equifax Australia Information Services and Solutions Pty Ltd for the purpose of listing a default.

Our website may contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

We use Stripe for payment, analytics, and other business services. Stripe collects identifying information about the devices that connect to its services. Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud detection. Sharing of your personal information

We may occasionally hire other companies to provide services on our behalf, including but not limited to handling customer support enquiries, processing transactions or enabling app functionality. Those companies will be permitted to obtain only the personal information they need to deliver the service. RIIDE Pty Ltd takes reasonable steps to ensure that these organisations are bound by confidentiality and privacy obligations in relation to the protection of your personal information.

You are entitled to obtain a copy of your credit report from these bodies, request corrections if your information is inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete or misleading, and request a ban on your credit report in cases of fraud or identity theft.

User information may be stored overseas in the European Union (EU) or the United States of America (USA). If stored in the EU, processing may also be subject to the GDPR, in addition to the standards set out by the Australian Privacy Principles. EU and USA jurisdictions may not have privacy laws identical to Australia; by providing your information you consent to this overseas disclosure.

Use of your personal information

We collect your Personal Information for the primary purpose of providing our services to you, providing information to our clients and marketing. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary purposes closely related to the primary purpose, in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” button in emails or contacting us in writing.

We may use your personal information to conduct credit checks, collect overdue accounts and manage credit-related disputes. We may collect and handle credit-related information, including your repayment history, default information, and credit eligibility information. This information is collected for the purpose of managing outstanding debts, conducting credit checks, recovering overdue accounts, and assessing your eligibility for continued access to our service.

For each visitor to reach the site, we expressly collect the following non-personally identifiable information, including but not limited to browser type, version and language, operating system, pages viewed while browsing the site, page access times and referring website address. This collected information is used both internally, and through Google and Cloudflare, for the purpose of gauging visitor traffic, trends and delivering personalized content to you while you are at this site. We may also use analytics providers in our mobile apps.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will use them for these new purposes only, data collected from the time of the policy change forward will adhere to our updated practices.

Sensitive Information

Sensitive information is defined in the Privacy Act to include information or opinion about such things as an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious or philosophical beliefs, membership of a trade union or other professional body, criminal record or health information.

Sensitive information will be used by us only:

  • For the primary purpose for which it was obtained
  • For a secondary purpose that is directly related to the primary purpose
  • With your consent; or where required or authorised by law.

We protect your data with encryption and restricted access.  We will notify you and the OAIC under the Notifiable Data Breach scheme if a breach is likely to result in serious harm.

Default listings

We may report a payment default to a credit reporting body only if:

  • the amount owing is $150 or more; and
  • the payment has been overdue for at least 60 days; and
  • we have sent you two written notices, the second at least 30 days after the first; and
  • no valid dispute, hardship request, or AFCA complaint is open.

We will not list a default if you have made a valid request for hardship assistance and it is still being considered.

You will receive a final reminder at least 14 days before we list the default.

We aim to respond to credit-related complaints in writing within 30 calendar days.

If you are dissatisfied with our written IDR outcome you have at least 14 days to escalate to AFCA before any default can be listed.

External dispute resolution

If an issue has not been resolved to your satisfaction, you can lodge a complaint with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). AFCA provides fair and independent financial services complaint resolution that is free to consumers.

Analytics

RIIDE Pty Ltd reserves the right to make amendments to this Privacy Policy at any time. If you have objections to the Privacy Policy, you should not access or use the site, our apps, or our other services.

Accessing Your Personal Information

You have a right to access your personal information, subject to exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. RIIDE Pty Ltd reserves the right to charge an administrative fee for searching for, and providing access to, your information on a per request basis.
