Students and staff can now drive from anywhere on the Gold Coast to Griffith’s Gold Coast campus and leave the car there using RIIDE, all for a quarter of a cost of a taxi.

RIIDE is a carsharing service that allows users to hire a car with their phones, like a lime bike, and drop it off in zones across the city. This exciting new partnership between RIIDE and Griffith will allow staff and students to hire a car from around the city with their phones and drive to Griffith University to be either used later or for someone else to use. Parking at Griffith is included in the service’s price and any fuel used in the journey.
RIIDE is already leading the way for making travel more environmentally friendly, and we think Griffith University’s values are a perfect fit for leading the way for innovation, being the first university on the Gold Coast to introduce RIIDE to its staff and students.
RIIDE is environmentally friendly with a fleet of 100% hybrid cars and helps reduce the downtime your car has whilst you are busy doing other things. It also helps bridge the gap between public transport and owning a private car, balancing affordability with accessibility.
Parking at our dropoff locations is included for free with RIIDE, so you won’t have to worry about where to leave your personal vehicle when you need to go somewhere.
The new parking area
A new zone has been created within the Griffith Gold Coast campus to allow staff and students to park there for free.
There are two specific parking spaces that have been assigned to RIIDE in the northern side of Student Centre Lane, located adjacent to the G33 Student Centre building. These spots can also be accessed from Health Drive.
Whilst the carpark signage is pending, users are able to utilise the carpark without parking in specific spots. As always, users must ensure the vehicle is parked legally.
RIIDE is Gold Coast’s first A to B / free-floating car share and offers an all-inclusive, affordable, and sustainable service with cars located around the Gold Coast, ready for users to drive and drop off at popular destinations around the city — paid by the minute. Pick up the car using your phone, use the app as the key and drop it off across zones on the coast.
Note the difference between ride-sharing and car-sharing. RIIDE offers a carsharing service that allows cars to be shared. All cars provided by RIIDE are owned by RIIDE and are hybrid.
